Core Curriculum 3/4/5 Classroom
Language Arts | Math | History | Science | Physical Education
The 3/4/5 classroom is made up of three grade levels throughout the day. In some subject areas, such as language arts and math, the classroom often has three separate student groups/levels working at the same time. In other subjects, such as history, science and P.E., student groups/levels are often combined. All morning instruction is supported by a classroom assistant.

FOSS Science is hands-on, providing Nicasio's elementary students with authentic, engaging learning experiences.
Grades 3/4/5 Combined (three-year rotation): (Rotation 1) Structures of Life; Sun, Moon & Stars; Matter & Energy; (Rotation 2) Environments; Solid Earth; Magmetism & Electriciy; (Rotation 3) Living Systems; Water Planet; Mixtures & Solutions
Physical Education
Kindergarten students enjoy morning P.E. sessions several times a week, while students in grades 1 and 2 participate in a combined P.E. class four afternoons a week for 45-minute class periods. Students meet with their homeroom teacher for P.E. two of these days and receive instruction from a P.E. specialist, funded through Nicasio School Foundation, the other two days. Most activities and sports take place outside, but Nicasio School's multi-purpose room provides an excellent indoor space when needed.
