Core Curriculum K/1/2 Classroom
Language Arts | Math | History | Science | Physical Education
The K/1/2 classroom is made up of three grade levels for 5 of the day's 7 class periods (kindergarteners are dismissed early). In some subject areas, such as language arts and math, the classroom often has three separate student groups/levels working at the same time. In other subjects, such as history, science and P.E., student groups/levels are often combined. All morning instruction is supported by a classroom assistant.

Physical Education
Kindergarten students enjoy morning P.E. sessions several times a week, while students in grades 1 and 2 participate in a combined P.E. class four afternoons a week for 45-minute class periods. Students meet with their homeroom teacher for P.E. two of these days and receive instruction from a P.E. specialist, funded through Nicasio School Foundation, the other two days. Most activities and sports take place outside, but Nicasio School's multi-purpose room provides an excellent indoor space when needed.
